We loved this boutique hotel. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. So friendly that we chose to eat dinner here 3 out of 4 nights. The views from the restaurant for dinner and breakfast can’t be beat and the food was delicious. Our room had a phenomenal view that I could not find anywhere else at this price point. We were hesitant to stay in Bellano because it is a “small” village, but the train to Varenna was frequent and easy to use. Varenna was also overrun by tourists and Bellano was quiet, peaceful, and had plenty of shopping and dining options. We would absolutely return to Meridiana!

Fabulous property and host!
Fabulous property and host! Giovanni went above and beyond to welcome us and answer any questions or concerns, both before our arrival and during our stay. The views of the lake are just stunning and we loved sitting out on our own private terrace with a glass of wine enjoying our surroundings. The location is quiet and secluded, but walkable to town, the ferry, and the train station. We were able rent a boat right in the town and enjoyed exploring the lake on our own. We also took the ferry to other towns on the lake and enjoyed the busier, more well known towns as well.

Beautiful Orrido and Cascata are two "must visits" in Bellano for ones loving nature. The SS36 motorway nearby makes your travel with car very easy alongside the whole Eastern part of the lake, meanwhile the rest of the roads along the lake can be full of traffic jams. This to be considered if you chose your location to sleep during the night but travel to explore different venues during the day.CsanádHungary - 10Scored 10

We would highly recommend staying in Bellano. It was convenient to other villages on the lake and we could be away from the crowds. It was a charming town with great restaurants. The ferry service was most convenient to Bellano. We were able to travel around the lake easily and looked forward to coming back to our bit of paradise in Bellano!Festa - 10Scored 10
Our group really liked Bellano.
Our group really liked Bellano. We were looking for a smaller town that was not over-commercialized or overrun with tourists, but not so small that there was nothing to do and the dining options were limited. In Bellano we found nice restaurants & we were particularly fond of the places adjacent to the water where we could dine and watch the lake traffic. The ferry schedule was a bit confusing but we figured it out spent some time on the water as well. In all, Bellano was what we were looking for and we were very happy with our choice. There is a small supermarket across the street and the lake shore is also close by. It’s a 5 minute walk along the lake to get to the centre of Bellano. Inside everything is newly renovated and all appliances are there. The living area is quite spacious as is the bedroom. Our host Francesca was very helpful and met us at the station to guide us to the flat and show us everything. We very much enjoyed our stay there and would come back again

The host was also very welcoming, helpful, and easy to reach (we used the chat in bookings). Note that if you're exploring the lake, we found that Bellano makes a perfect base, as it's close to everything but out of the way, so it's not too busy. Also, Bellano itself has a very nice charm that makes it quite endearing. Be sure to check out the Pasticceria Lorla for great croissants - just a block away!

Mr. Enzo was an exceptional host who made sure his guests have everything they need (and, if you don’t feel like walking - he might just come pick you up!) The view was lovely. after traveling in Italy for 4 weeks - this was the reprieve I needed. the little pool was perfect after a long day too - doesn’t seem like much until you get in it! The location was perfect, with a lake view from the outdoor seating area, and short walking distance to restaurants and cafés. The communication from Ivana was excellent, and she left lovely treats for us to enjoy, which were so appreciated. I would absolutely recommend Il Porticciola for a relaxing stay in Bellano.
